Practice Exercises
Refer to the videos below to practice drawing the following: eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, hair, facial hair. You may combine multiple practice drawings on one sheet of paper.
Grid Preparation1. Select/download a portrait photograph to your device. Make sure the image is a close up on the face. It should be shoulders and up.
2. Refer to the grid guide to Grid Paper, Crop/Size your Image, and Grid Image. Read the directions carefully. Be sure not to miss a step. 4. Turn your paper the same orientation as your celebrity photo. Then, number the top and letter the sides of the photo and drawing paper. Project1. Begin LIGHTLY drawing the contour line (outline) of the portrait by transferring the lines and shapes you see in each box of the photograph to the corresponding box on your drawing paper. Focus on one square at a time and check to make sure that you are in the correct square often!
2. Once you have completed you contour outline, begin shading. *Refer to the Project Demo Videos at the bottom of this page. |
